Chimney Restoration and Demolition
Some of the common defects in chimneys include; deterioration of mortar joints, splits caused by heat expansion, broken or missing pots, cracked flaunching and potential damage caused by the weight (lever action) of aerials. When chimney stacks are redundant and clients are quite sure that they will not be required again, an opportunity arises to remove the stack below the roof line and to tile or slate over. This is most often the most suitable solution as an alternative to rebuilding where a stack is in poor condition.
We also carry out chimney restoration which can involve repointing, rebuilding, patching or renewing roughcast, repairing flaunching and rebidding pots.
